Pairs, day one
We started the pairs match today but before that we had the bad news that our manager has also gone down with illness.
We had a decent start at 300m dropping just one point. We both had good groups. From previous Games experience I know that the first shoot can be very hard - nerves can come from anywhere. It was therefore really encouraging to come through that well.
Unfortunately we dropped 3 at 500m. Our groups were again excellent (in fact there is only one team with more Vs than us) but we had some loose shots that escaped the bull. Still, given how weak Peter is feeling (and his vision has also suffered) we didn't do too badly.
The the fog came in. Again. The decision was taken to stop for the day and to then start again at 600m in the morning before moving to long range. Hopefully it will be clear.
I don't have a copy of the scores but England and Australia were clean, a few teams (including Jersey, Scotland and Ireland) were one off and a handful of others (Wales) were two off. We were next best in 10th place on 4 off.
More tomorrow.
